Kriegsende 1945 in der Steiermark: Ende des Terrors, Beginn der Besatzung

Die Steiermark war in den letzten Wochen der NS-Herrschaft Schauplatz zahlreicher sogenannter „Endphaseverbrechen“, in deren Folge hunderte Menschen ermordet wurden. In dieser Zeit gab es aber auch zahlreiche Männer und Frauen, die sich dem Terror widersetzten und Verfolgten halfen.
Renommierte HistorikerInnen, wie Helmut Konrad, Heimo Halbreiner und Barbara Stelzl-Marx, nehmen im Rahmen einer öffentlich zugänglichen Tagung diese Spuren auf. Die insgesamt zwölf Vorträge beleuchten neben den Gewaltverbrechen und Morden die Rolle der alliierten Besatzung sowie die Aufarbeitung der Delikte vor genau 70 Jahren.

Die Konferenz wird von CLIO in Kooperation mit der 7. fakultät – dem Zentrum für Wissen, Gesellschaft und Kommunikation an der Uni Graz – veranstaltet.

The Austrian Science Fund FWF has selected the Doctoral Programme in Theoretical Particle Physics at the University of Graz for funding from the Doc.funds. Six young scientists will be funded for 3.5 years. They will gain fundamentally new insights into the origins of the world.
