Honorary doctorate for marketing expert

The University of Graz awarded Lisa K. Scheer, an internationally recognized expert in the field of business-to-business marketing, an honorary doctorate on Thursday, 13 June 2024, at the request of the School of Business, Economics and Social Sciences.

In his welcoming speech, Rector Peter Riedler emphasized the significance of this award: "The University of Graz is proud to honor Lisa K. Scheer, an outstanding scientist of international renown. The honorary doctorate is a recognition of her extraordinary contributions to science and teaching. Her pioneering research and international collaborations have earned her worldwide recognition and respect."

Dean Thomas Foscht paid tribute to her special services to the faculty: "Lisa K. Scheer has not only achieved great things through her groundbreaking research work, but also through her strong commitment to young scientists and her close ties to the University of Graz."

Scheer has been closely associated with the School of Business, Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Graz for many years. She has given numerous guest lectures and seminars, which have contributed to deepening scientific relations between the University of Graz and international research institutions. In 2020, she accepted an affiliate professorship for business-to-business marketing and has since made a significant contribution to research funding at the university.

Impressive career
Lisa K. Scheer is Emma S. Hibbs Distinguished Professor at the University of Missouri. Her research focuses on interorganizational relationships in marketing, particularly trust, interdependence and fairness. Her work has been published in numerous renowned journals and has been recognized worldwide. In addition to her research, she is actively involved in the academic community.
