Karl Farmer wurde zum Professor Honoris Causa der Universität Cluj-Napoca ernannt.

Karl Farmer vom Institut für Volkswissenschaften der Uni Graz wurde kürzlich zum Ehrenprofessor der rumnäischen Babes-Bolyai-Universität Cluj-Napoca ernannt. Er wurde damit für seine qualitativ herausragende und motivierte Lehrtätigkeit geehrt. Der Volkswirt unterrichtet im Rahmen des deutschsprachigen Studiengangs mindestens einmal pro Jahr an der Fakultät für Wirtschaftswissenschaften und Management. Weiters honorierte der Senat der Babes-Bolyai-Universität Farmers zahlreiche Publikationen im Bereich internationaler Makroökonomik sowie auf dem Gebiet der so genannten intertemporalen Gleichgewichtsmodelle, die zukunftsorientierte wirtschaftliche Entscheidungen wie Sparen und Investieren mathematisch abbilden.
