Wie sicher sind die Jungen im Netz? Universität Graz startet Lernspiel für SchülerInnen

Der digitale Alltag gleicht einem Blindflug. Kinder und Jugendliche sind rasant auf Online-Plattformen unterwegs, übersehen aber die Gefahren. Über Cyberattacken, sicheres Passwort und Daten-Tracking wissen sie – obwohl mit Facebook und Co aufgewachsen – viel zu wenig. Die Universität Graz hat ein Lernspiel entwickelt, das 14- bis 16-Jährige digital sattelfest machen soll.

„Sie erfahren zum Beispiel, was ein sicheres Passwort ausmacht, wie Unternehmen die UserInnen überwachen, Daten zu Geld machen oder wie sie einen Hackerangriff erkennen“, schildert Kathrin Otrel-Cass, Bildungsforscherin an der Universität Graz. Unter ihrer Federführung wurde das Projekt „Digital? Sicher!“ durchgeführt. Als Ergebnis liegt nun ein gleichnamiges und kostenloses Lernspiel vor.

„Digital? Sicher!“ ist für den Schulunterricht konzipiert. Insgesamt fünf Module samt Anleitung für PädagogInnen stehen zur Verfügung. „Je ein Abschnitt lässt sich gut in einer Unterrichtsstunde, unabhängig vom Fach, unterbringen“, erklärt Otrel-Cass.
Angepasst an die Zielgruppe ähneln Oberfläche und Ablauf vertrauten sozialen Medien. SchülerInnen der Ortweinschule Graz haben die grafische Gestaltung übernommen. In altersgerechter Form lernen junge NutzerInnen wirklichkeitsnah Szenarien und Risiken kennen und trainieren den verantwortungsvollen Umgang.

Die WissenschafterInnen haben das vom Zukunftsfonds des Landes Steiermark geförderte Lernspiel unter Einbindung von SchülerInnen, LehrerInnen entwickelt und getestet. Auch VertreterInnen von Unternehmen und Jugendeinrichtungen waren involviert. „Um die Teenager in einer digitalen Welt für die berufliche Zukunft fit zu machen“, begründet Co-Projektleiter Stefan Thalmann, Wirtschaftsinformatiker an der Uni Graz.
