Die Uni Graz im neuen Webkleid

Die Homepage der Uni Graz wurde überarbeitet.

Jetzt noch besser informiert sein mit Uni.on.

Benutzerfreundlich, modern und schlank präsentiert sich der Webauftritt der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz, der nach einer kompletten Überarbeitung am 31. Mai 2012 neu strukturiert online ging.

"Ziel ist es, die Universität Graz nach außen hin noch besser sichtbar zu machen", begründet Rektorin Christa Neuper die Initiative. "Durch die neue Homepage wird das Leitbild der Uni Graz, eine gesellschaftsrelevante, forschungsorientierte Bildungseinrichtung am Standort Steiermark zu sein, gebündelt in die Öffentlichkeit getragen."

Eine Universität, fünf Portale

Künftig werden Inhalte und Informationen zu den einzelnen Aufgaben und Bereichen der Universität auf der Homepage noch übersichtlicher dargeboten: Unter den Portalen „Studieren“, „Lehren“, „Forschen“ und „Mitarbeiten“ finden sich – zielgruppenorientiert – sämtliche Angebote und Leistungen der Uni Graz auf einen Blick wieder. Der Punkt „Universität“ porträtiert die zweitgrößte Hochschule Österreichs in Geschichte und Leitbild und ist sowohl für ErstbesucherInnen als auch für erfahrene NutzerInnen das Tor zur Uni Graz.

Tagesaktuell: Das Online-Magazin der Uni Graz

Gänzlich überarbeitet zeigt sich auch der News-Bereich: „uni.on – das Online-Magazin der Universität Graz“ löst fortan die „Newsbox“ ab und berichtet tagesaktuell über spannende Themen aus Wissenschaft und Forschung, Studium und Lehre sowie über Veranstaltungen und Ereignisse am Campus der Uni Graz. uni.on erlaubt neben mehr Übersichtlichkeit vor allem das reibungslose Zusammenspiel von multimedialen Inhalten. In der neuen Rubrik „Im Fokus“ finden die LeserInnen zentrale Schwerpunkthemen der Uni Graz. Erreichbar unter http://on.uni-graz.at

Around the world in eight stops: the Long Night of Research at the University of Graz

On 24 April from 5 pm, you can take a short trip around the globe at the University of Graz, discovering pecularities of foreign countries or new local features in the entrance hall of the University Library. The itinerary takes you through introduced animal species, political attitudes and the omnipotence of algorithms. There will also be a programme in the historic reading hall, as well as at the UniGraz@Museum and the University Archive.

Building biological bridges: Chemist discovers an ecological tool for the pharmaceutical industry

Building a relationship on a solid foundation is also important in chemistry. To produce medicines, disinfectants or plant protection products, stable bonds between carbon atoms must be formed. Conventional chemical methods rely on environmentally harmful reagents and solvents to carry out the desired reaction. This process also produces unusable by-products. Chemist Lilla Gal has discovered an enzyme that enables the same process to take place efficiently and sustainably. The results of her research were recently published in the prestigious journal Angewandte Chemie.
