Das Sprachenfest findet am 24. September 2015 auf der Grazer Murinsel statt

"Beim Reden kommen die Leut' z'amm": Am 26. September wird seit 15 Jahren der Tag der Europäischen Tag der Sprachen gefeiert. Einrichtungen in ganz Europa veranstalten an diesem Tag Sprachenfeste und -aktionen und machen so auf die sprachliche und kulturelle Vielfalt aufmerksam. In Graz veranstaltet das Sprachennetzwerk Graz, ein Zusammenschluss von internationalen, nationalen und lokalen Bildungsinstitutionen, bereits zum dritten Mal auf der Murinsel - heuer schon zwei Tage früher, am 24. September 2015.

Von 9:30 bis 18 Uhr können InselbesucherInnen bei Sprachenworkshops, Minisprachkursen im Sprachencafé, Gewinnspielen, Bastelaktionen und vielen weiteren Aktivitäten die sprachliche und kulturelle Vielfalt der Stadt kennenlernen. Mit einem bunten musikalischen und künstlerischen Rahmenprogramm werden Lieder, Tänze und Theaterstücke aus aller Welt präsentiert. Auch am Mariahilferplatz und an der Pädagogischen Hochschule Steiermark gibt es Stationen.

Die Karl-Franzens-Universität ist am Tag der Europäischen Sprachen ebenfalls vertreten: Das Institut für Theoretische und Angewandte Sprachwissenschaft bietet zum ersten Mal Übersetzungsworkshops an, die Theatertruppe "Pennyless Players" präsentieren im Rahmen eines Workshops ihre Version von Oscar Wildes "Das Gespenst von Canterville" und die Sprachenlandschaftsausstellung von treffpunkt sprachen wird ebenfalls gezeigt.

On the trail of the Big Bang: University of Graz receives 1.5 million euros for doctoral programmes

The Austrian Science Fund FWF has selected the Doctoral Programme in Theoretical Particle Physics at the University of Graz for funding from the Doc.funds. Six young scientists will be funded for 3.5 years. They will gain fundamentally new insights into the origins of the world.

From trans women and knee prostheses: sports science prizes awarded

Walking better with a prosthesis, successfully getting rid of excess weight, training more effectively, more fairness for trans people in sport: these were the topics addressed by the students at the University of Graz who were awarded the sports science prizes for their Master's theses on 3 December 2025.
