Arnold Hanslmeier gibt in seinem neuen Buch spannende Anleitungen zur Erkundung des Nachthimmels

In den Tagen um den 12. August heißt es wieder Sternschnuppen-Schauen! Der jährlich wiederkehrende Meteorstrom der Perseiden lädt Verliebte und RomantikerInnen dazu ein, in den Nachthimmel zu blicken und sich etwas zu wünschen, wenn die Meteoriden beim Eintritt in die Erdatmosphäre verglühen.

Wer mehr über Sonne, Mond und Sterne, Planeten und Galaxien erfahren möchte, findet Antworten in einem neuen Buch von Univ.-Prof. Dr. Arnold Hanslmeier. Unter dem Titel „Den Nachthimmel erleben“ führt der Astrophysiker der Uni Graz in die moderne Astronomie ein – spannend und allgemein verständlich, mit zahlreichen Abbildungen und praktischen Tipps zur Entdeckung des Weltalls mit dem Fernrohr.

Das Buch, das sich an Hobby-AstronomInnen, interessierte Laien, SchülerInnen und Studierende des Fachs richtet, bietet zuerst eine Anleitung für das Arbeiten mit dem Teleskop – von der Anschaffung bis zur optimalen Aufnahme und Verarbeitung von Bildern. Es folgen Hilfestellungen beim Erkunden des Sternenhimmels sowie grundlegendes Wissen über die Entstehung und die Phänomene des Universums. Auch die Frage nach außerirdischem Leben und einer möglichen Kontaktaufnahme greift Arnold Hanslmeier auf.

„Vorsicht: Sie können süchtig werden!“, warnt der Autor die LeserInnen gleich am Anfang seines Buches. Ein Risiko, das es sich in diesem Fall durchaus lohnt einzugehen.
