Der Botanische Garten lädt zu einer Kaffee und Kakao-Ausstellung. Stargast bei der Eröffnung ist der steirische Chocolatier Josef Zotter

Der Kaffee am Morgen und ein Stück Schokolade in der Mittagspause – der Genuss von Kaffee und Kakaoprodukten ist für viele ein fester Bestandteil des Alltags. In Österreich werden im Durchschnitt drei Tassen Kaffee pro Tag getrunken, im Jahr mehr als acht Kilogramm Schokolade pro Person verzehrt. Nicht nur hier, sondern weltweit steigt die Nachfrage an Kaffee und Kakao.

Der Botanische Garten widmet sich den bittersüßen Bohnen, ihren Anbaubedingungen, dem Handel und der Herstellung von Kaffee und Schokolade in einer Sonderausstellung in dern Gewächshäusern in der Schubertstrasse 59. Neben den Pflanzen geht es auch um das Leben der Kleinbauern und die Bedeutung von Fairem Handel.
