Bibel und Koran auf, Vorurteile raus: Was jüdische, christliche und islamische Texte über Gender sagen

Der Mensch wurde zuerst erschaffen, nicht der Mann. Katharina Pyschny verweist auf den hebräischen Text des Alten Testaments. Die Theologin will einmal mehr mit Vorurteilen aufräumen, die sich anhand von Bibelzitaten hartnäckig halten. Und die oft das Bild der Geschlechter und von Sexualität prägen. Auch außerhalb der Glaubensgemeinschaften.

Doch warum werden in säkularen Gesellschaften klassische Rollenbilder mit religiösen Argumenten begründet? „Weil es möglicherweise zeigt, wie sehr uns Religion nach wie vor sozialisiert“, erklärt Pyschny, Professorin für Alttestamentliche Bibelwissenschaft an der Uni Graz.
Dabei spiegeln selbst frühe Schriften im Juden- und Christentum sowie Islam teils andere, weniger starre Sichtweisen von Ehe, gleichgeschlechtlichen Beziehungen und Gender wider. „In den Texten“, so die Wissenschaftlerin, „wird auch mit patriachalen Strukturen gerungen.“

Elisabeth-List-Fellowship

Den Beweis will Katharina Pyschny im Rahmen eines Projekts, gefördert vom Elisabeth-List-Fellowship-Programm, anhand konkreter Beispiele antreten – gemeinsam mit Wissenschaftlerinnen anderer Religionen: Charlotte Fonrobert, Expertin für Rabbinisches Judentum an der Stanford University, Annette Weissenrieder, evangelische Theologin an der Universität Halle, und Mira Sievers, islamische Theologin an der Humboldt-Universität Berlin.

Ein Resultat der Forschungsarbeit wird ein Studienbuch sein, um das überlieferte Narrativ in Frage zu stellen und wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse in die breite Bevölkerung zu bringen.
