Vortragsreihe „International Lectures“ startete an der Uni Graz zum Schwerpunkt Südosteuropa

Mit dem Schwerpunkt-Thema Südosteuropa erfolgte am 19. Mai 2015 der Auftakt der Reihe „International Lectures“ an der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz. Die Vortragsreihe von uniko, OeAD und Universitäten macht im aktuellen Sommersemester an der Uni Graz Station.
Unter dem Titel „Exit, Noise and Disloyalty: Reflections on the Politics of Protest in the Age of Globalization and how Universities can contribute to Democratizations Processes” kam ein hochkarätig besetztes Podium zu Wort. Nach der Begrüßung durch Elisabeth Freismuth, Rektorin der Kunstuniversität Graz, die den hohen Stellenwert des internationalen Austausches betonte, hielt Ivan Krastev, Centre for Liberal Strategies in Sofia and Institute for Human Sciences, Vienna, sein Impulsreferat. Unter der Leitung des Journalisten und Südosteuropa-Experten Norbert Mappes-Niediek diskutierten dann unter anderem Florian Bieber, Leiter des Zentrums für Südosteuropastudien der Uni Graz, sowie Kerem Öktem, Professor am Zentrum für Südosteuropastudien der Uni Graz.

If ants ingest the substance in combination with the pesticide glyphosate, it disturbs the development of their offspring. Scientists at the University of Graz are drawing attention to the negative consequences of this toxic cocktail.
