80 Millionen Menschen weltweit können derzeit nicht nachhause. Der AirCampus-Podcast widmet sich dem World Refugee Day am 20. Juni

Die Podcast-Plattform der Grazer Universtitäten, der AirCampus, präsentiert jeden Montag Wissens-Podcasts, heute zu diesen Themen:

1) Auf der Flucht: 80 Millionen Menschen weltweit können aktuell nicht in ihre Heimat zurück – aufgrund von Krieg, Konflikten oder politischer Verfolgung. Am 20. Juni, dem Weltflüchtlingstag, sind wir aufgerufen, gemeinsam an Lösungen zu arbeiten.

2) Einen Schritt voraus: Hund, Stock, Brailleschrift – all das sind wichtige Hilfsmittel für sehbeeinträchtigte Menschen. Einen Schritt weiter geht die TU Graz wortwörtlich: Sie entwickelt einen Algorithmus für einen Schuh mit Ultraschallsensor, der die Navigation erleichtert.

3) Ganzheitlich: Gesundheits- und Krankenpflege wird - als Ausbildung mit viel Praxisbezug - derzeit nur an Fachhochschulen angeboten. Doch wie lernt man, Studien in diesem Bereich durchzuführen und Forschungsergebnisse zu interpretieren? Das Masterstudium Pflegewissenschaften konzentriert sich darauf.

4) Im Wirbel des Jazz: Als Hybrid-Event findet das Finalkonzert des Jazz Comp am 18. Juni 2021 im MUMUTH statt – im Stream und mit Publikum! Die Spitze des europäischen Jazz-Nachwuchses stellt sich in diesem Wettbewerb einer internationalen Jury vor.

Was ist der AirCampus?
Das Podcast-Projekt der vier Grazer Universitäten versorgt MitarbeiterInnen, Studierende sowie alle Interessierten das ganze Studienjahr über mit wissenswerten Infos aus der Welt der Forschung, aus dem Bildungsbereich und dem Campusleben der Universität Graz, Technischen Universität, Medizinischen Universität und Kunstuniversität.

Früher als "Webradio" bekannt, gibt es auf der Website http://www.aircampus-graz.at auch alle Podcasts, die vor dem 2. Oktober 2017 publiziert wurden, im Archiv zum Nachhören. Uns gibt es übrigens auch auf Spotify und Apple Podcasts!

Die Initiative erhielt 2012 den Inge-Morath-Preis des Landes Steiermark, 2017 den PR-Panther in der Kategorie "Wissenschaft" und 2018 den Green Panther in der Kategorie Online Kommunikation.

Researchers at the University of Graz have now developed transparent criteria for fair distribution at the subnational level for the first time and determined corresponding greenhouse gas budgets for all European regions. The paper was published today in the scientific journal Nature Communications.

Chemical Christmas show at the University of Graz: An explosive evening at the Schauspielh

At the beginning of December, the University of Graz transformed the theater into a laboratory: as part of “Chemical Life,” teacher training students staged a chemical Christmas show for Styrian school classes—complete with ethanol rockets, nitrogen snow, and glowing effects. An evening designed to inspire interest in studying chemistry.

Train by train: Koralm railway accelerates exchange between the Universities

Lectures at the University of Klagenfurt in the morning, seminars at the University of Graz in the afternoon: Austria's longest tunnel and a journey time of around 45 minutes make it easy. The Koralm railway increases the speed of networking between the two university locations. The collaboration builds on existing cooperation - for example in the areas of teacher training, Slavic studies and as employers, the universities are well coordinated.
