Ulrich Ermann und Oliver Sass über physische Geographie und Humangeographie

Aktuelle Probleme des Klima- und Umweltwandels sowie des gesellschaftlichen Wandels erfordern eine Integration naturwissenschaftlicher und gesellschaftswissenschaftlicher Perspektiven. Die Geographie erscheint als erklärende Disziplin ideal für die kritische und wissenschaftliche Auseinandersetzung mit dieser umfassenden Problematik. Die in diesem Studienjahr an der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz initiierte Vortragsreihe "Grazer Integrative Geographie" setzt sich in besonderen Vorträgen - immer donnerstags - gezielt mit dieser Thematik auseinander. Die Antrittsvorlesungen von Univ.-Prof. Dr. Ulrich Ehrmann und Univ.Prof. Dr. Oliver Sass, die am Donnerstag, den 17. Jänner 2013 gehalten werden, nehmen das Leitbild der Veranstaltung auf. 


"Humangeographie der Nicht-Menschen: unmenschlich?": In seinem Vortrag geht Ehrmann der Frage nach, inwiefern humangeographische Forschung auch die physisch-materielle Welt einbeziehen kann und sollte und welche Menschenbilder dies impliziert.

Unter dem Titel "Geomorphologie und Human Impact - gibt es noch das ,natürliche System'"?" zeigt Sass, dass die Geomorphologie eine 'Natur' zum Forschungsgegenstand hat, die von gravierendenund vielfältigen Eingriffen des Menschen geprägt ist.

The Austrian Science Fund FWF has selected the Doctoral Programme in Theoretical Particle Physics at the University of Graz for funding from the Doc.funds. Six young scientists will be funded for 3.5 years. They will gain fundamentally new insights into the origins of the world.

Walking better with a prosthesis, successfully getting rid of excess weight, training more effectively, more fairness for trans people in sport: these were the topics addressed by the students at the University of Graz who were awarded the sports science prizes for their Master's theses on 3 December 2025.
