For questions about accessibility at the University of Graz, the Disability Resource Centre (ZIS) is the first point of contact. The primary purpose of the Disability Resource Centre is to ensure that all students at the University of Graz have equal access to all courses and activities.

Information and advice

The Disability Resource Centre provides advice and assistance for students with disabilities, chronic illnesses or psychological disorders, to support them in their day-to-day student life. It offers solutions for various challenges, ranging from building and information accessibility through to financing your studies and finding accommodation.

Modified examinations

If physical impairments prevent students from taking their exams, they have the right to alternative, specially adjusted forms of examination. In these situations the Disability Resource Centre makes contact with the teaching staff and provides advice on preparing a modified examination.

Accessibility on campus

The University of Graz aims to make all entrances and spaces in the many buildings on campus wheelchair-accessible. While new buildings are all disability-friendly (entrances, room configurations and fittings), there are some individual buildings and/or spaces which still need to be adapted.

The Disability Resource Centre provides information about accessible entrances and technical equipment in rooms, and where necessary arranges for courses or exams to be moved to accessible premises.
