In this microcredential, you will learn the fundamentals of science communication: What are its tasks, target audiences, and formats? Through practical exercises—from writing a blog post to performing on stage—you will develop your communication skills and gain valuable experience in tailoring scientific content to different audiences.

The microcredential is generally available to all doctoral and master’s students. In the following curriculum, the microcredential is also integrated as an elective module.

Registration

Registration for the consecutive courses of the Microcredential in Science Communication is done via UNIGRAZonline:

Science Communication: Understanding the Basics, Implementing Strategies (course, 2 credits)
Tools in Science Communication (course, 2 credits)

Placement in the Microcredential in Science Communication is allocated as follows:
Students enrolled in the Doctoral Programme in Teaching Methodology are guaranteed a place. All other students will initially be placed on a waiting list and will be admitted as soon as places become available. The order of applicants on the waiting list is based on their academic progress.
