Europe Day on 9 May commemorates the Schuman Declaration of 1950 and symbolises cooperation, peace and solidarity in Europe. For students at the University of Graz, this European ideal takes on a very concrete form: the University of Graz is part of the Arqus European University Alliance, a network of nine universities that strengthens research, study and teaching, as well as social engagement, across borders. The alliance comprises the universities of Graz, Granada, Leipzig, Lyon 1, Maynooth, Minho, Padua, Vilnius and Wrocław.
Arqus opens up a wide range of opportunities for students to gain international experience, acquire new skills and collaborate in European teams. One current offering is the English-language micro-credential ‘Advanced Creative Thinking and Communication’. The programme teaches advanced skills in creativity, innovation and persuasive communication, combining academic approaches with practice-oriented, experience-based learning.
The micro-credential is aimed at Master’s and PhD students. It comprises 5 ECTS credits and combines online elements, international teamwork, practical projects and a study visit to Denmark. Applications are open until 10 May 2026. The costs of travel and accommodation in Denmark. Travel and accommodation costs for the study visit to Denmark are to be covered by the participants themselves.
