Internationale ExpertInnen treffen sich zu einem Workshop über mathematische Modelle in der Biologie an der Uni Graz

Um biologische Vorgänge klären zu können, braucht es in zunehmendem Maße auch die Mathematik. Hypothesen, warum wir unsere Fäuste ballen können oder wie sich spezialisierte Körperzellen bilden, werden mithilfe mathematischer Modelle untermauert oder falsifiziert. Nicht zuletzt für dieses stetig wachsende Gebiet muss die Wissenschaft ihre Methoden weiterentwickeln. Am 29. Jänner treffen sich europäische WissenschafterInnen an der Universität zu einen Workshop, um Erfahrungen auszutauschen und neue Impulse für die Lösung beziehungsweise Charakterisierung komplexer Gleichungssysteme zu erhalten. Das Meeting wurde von Klemens Fellner und Gudrun Schappacher-Tilp vom Institut für Mathematik der Uni Graz organisiert und findet im Rahmen des Forschungsschwerpunkts Modelle und Simulation statt.
