Klimawandel-Ausstellung des UniGraz@Museum ist nun in Liezen zu sehen

Nach ihrem Graz-Debut 2016 übersiedelt die erfolgreiche Sonderausstellung „KliMacht | CliMatters“ in die Bezirkshauptstadt Liezen. Die von jungen Forscherinnen und Forschern konzipierte Schau gastiert nun für vier Monate im Einkaufszentrum Arkade. Dort können sich Interessierte zwischen Goldschmied und vegetarischem Restaurant über Grundlagen, Ursachen und Folgen des Klimawandels informieren. „Mit dieser Initiative betreten wir Neuland in der Zusammenarbeit mit der Uni Graz“, berichten die Eigentümer der Arkade, Richard und Martin Aigner. Im Rahmen der Eröffnungsfeier am 2. März 2017 gab die Kuratorin Dr. Bettina C. Lackner einen Einblick in die Klimaforschung und einen Überblick zur Ausstellung.

Im UniGraz@Museum laufen bereits Anstrengungen, weitere Kooperationen in anderen Bezirken aufzubauen. „Dadurch können wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse der Karl-Franzens-Universität auf unkomplizierte Weise Menschen in den Regionen zugänglich gemacht werden“, freut sich Mag. Franz Stangl, Kustos des UniGraz@Museum.

A research team from the University of Graz and the High Altitude Observatory in Boulder (USA) has succeeded in doing just that. The astrophysicists have developed an AI-supported method that makes even the smallest structures on the Sun visible. The scientists are convinced that this will bring about a lasting change in solar observation and that the new method can be used for the planned European Solar Telescope.

Long Night of Research: How many languages are there in the world?

How many languages are there in the world? What are their distinctive features? Which of these are spoken in Austria? These and other questions will be answered during the Long Night of Research at the University of Graz: on Friday, 24 April 2025, from 5 pm to 11 pm, in the University Library. Visitors can immerse themselves in the diversity of languages without travelling far by taking part in a quiz at the station.
