Die Montagsakademie der Uni Graz startet am 15. Oktober 2018 ins neue Studienjahr

Wissenschaft liefert laufend neue Erkenntnisse und Befunde über die Welt. Die Universität Graz beschäftigt sich mit Themen der Zukunft, welche die Gesellschaft betreffen und auch von dieser diskutiert werden sollen. In unterschiedlichen Forschungsbereichen gibt es vielversprechende Projekte und Lösungsansätze für drängende gesellschaftliche Probleme. Mit der Montagsakademie wurde ein Format geschaffen, das universitäres Wissen seit 2004 breit in die Regionen trägt. 

Am 15. Oktober 2018 um 19 Uhr eröffnet der Grazer Romanist Steffen Schneider die Montagsakademie mit seinem Vortrag über „Die Suche nach dem Glück: Zukunftsvisionen im Werk Michel Houellebecqs“. Die Montagsakademie lädt auch internationale Gäste nach Graz ein: Am 29. Oktober 2018 diskutiert Christine Morgenroth-Negt vom Institut für Soziologie der Leibniz Universität Hannover in ihrem Vortrag die Frage: „Wie alltagstauglich sind Sozialutopien in Zeiten globaler Erosionskrisen?“. Das Leitthema für dieses Studienjahr ist „Schöne neue Welt!? Wie Wissenschaft und Technik unsere Zukunft sehen“ (2. Zyklus). Die Veranstaltungen finden in der Aula der Universität Graz statt und werden live in 12 regionale Einrichtungen übertragen.
