Vier gewinnt

Würdigungspreis des Ministeriums an Absolventen der Uni Graz

Alle guten Dinge sind manchmal auch vier: Die vier Absolventen der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz, Daniel Kraft, Msc, Mag. Louis Kubarth, Mag. Armin Larndorfer und Mailk Sharif, MA wurden für ihre hervorragenden Leistungen mit dem "Würdigungspreis 2012" des Bundesministeriums für Wissenschaft und Forschung ausgezeichnet. "Jeder der heute ausgezeichneten Studierenden hat durch einen persönlichen Einsatz zur Exellenz an den heimischen Hochschulen beigetragen. Die Leistung dieser jungen WissenschafterInnen ist beeindruckend und verdient größten Respekt", betonte Wissenschafts- und Forschungsminister Karlheinz Töchterle bei der Verleihung am 20. November in Wien. Ausgezeichnet werden die besten Studienabschlüsse des letzten Studienjahres in Diplom/Master und Doktorat an Österreichs Unis und Fachhochschulen.

 

Die Preisträger 2012 der Uni Graz:

  • Daniel Kraft, Msc (Jahrgang 1988). Thema der Arbeit "Macht und sozio-ökonomische Ungleichheit in einer Gesellschaft: Eine Anwendung der statistischen Physik auf die Sozialwissenschaften"

  • Mag. iur. Luis Kubarth (Jahrgang 1987). Thema der Arbeit "Rechtskraftdurchbrechung im Abgabenverfahren auf Grund EuGH-Urteilen"

  • Mag. phil. Armin Larndorfer (Jahrgang 1985). Thema der Arbeit "Megaphon-Uni: Erwachsenenbildung für ,sozial Benachteiligt`in Graz"

  • Malik Shalif, MA (Jahrgang 1982). Thema der Arbeit "Das Masala Brass Kollektiv. Eine mikromusikalische Fallstudie aus Österreich"

 

 

2012 erhielten 73 Personen den Preis, dass sind 0,3 Prozent aller knapp 25.000 Studienabschlüsse eines Studienjahres in Österreich. Für die meisten NachwuchswissenschafterInnen ist der mit 2500 Euro dotierte Preis die erste Auszeichnung ihrer Karriere.

Students from the University of Graz are spending two weeks conducting research at the Univerisity of Graz research station at the Sermilik Fjord in Greenland, which has been operational for three years. They are measuring glacial runoff, tracking ice melt in real time and installing weather stations. ORF is following the expedition and will be reporting on the special feature ‘Arctic Adventure’ across its various channels from 20 July.
