Balkan-Experte Cyrill Stieger liest am 13. Dezember 2017 im GrazMuseum

„Wir wissen nicht mehr, wer wir sind“, lautet der Titel des aktuellen Buches von Cyrill Stieger über vergessene Minderheiten auf dem Balkan. Das Zentrum für Südosteuropastudien der Uni Graz hat den Schweizer Journalisten, Historiker und Slawisten zu einer Lesung am 13. Dezember 2017 ins GrazMuseum geladen. Zentrumsleiter Florian Bieber wird die Veranstaltung moderieren.
Der Balkan ist die Region in Europa mit den meisten ethnischen, konfessionellen und sprachlichen Minderheiten. Dazu gehören etwa die zum Islam konvertierten Pomaken oder die christlichen Aromunen, die Torbeschen und die Vlachen. Wie kaum ein anderer kennt sie Cyrill Stieger, und er fand auf seiner Reise durch Mittel- und Osteuropa eine faszinierende, aber vom Verschwinden bedrohte Welt. Eindrücke und Gespräche hat er in seinem im Zsolnay-Verlag erschienen Buch festgehalten.
