Neue Plattform "Venturepreneurship Aula" setzt Impulse zur Finanzierung junger, innovativer Unternehmen

Persönlichkeiten aus den Bereichen Venture Capital und Entrepreneurship gaben am 15. Jänner 2016 in der Aula der Uni Graz Einblicke in ihre Welt. Die Veranstaltung war der Auftakt-Event der „Venturepreneurship Aula“, einer offenen Veranstaltungsreihe, die vom Zentrum für Entrepreneurship und angewandte Betriebswirtschaftslehre der Uni Graz unter der Leitung von Univ.-Prof. Dr. Alfred Gutschelhofer ins Leben gerufen wurde. Ihr Ziel: Bei regelmäßigen Events unternehmerische Praxis und universitären Diskurs zusammenzubringen und Impulse zur Finanzierung junger, innovativer Unternehmen zu setzen. Ab dem Sommersemester gibt es dazu auch eine eigene Lehrveranstaltung im Rahmen der Initiative TIMEGATE – Betriebswirtschaft für alle.

„Es ist wichtig, dass zum einen unternehmerisches Denken bereits während des Studiums vermittelt wird, und auch, dass Unternehmen aus der Universität heraus gegründet werden“, unterstrich Vizerektor Peter Riedler bei der Eröffnung die Bedeutung der Vernetzung von Wissenschaft und Praxis. Die große TeilnehmerInnenzahl der Veranstaltung zeige, dass das Thema Selbstständigkeit bereits gut an der Universität etabliert sei, so Riedler.

„Selbstständigkeit ist eine Lebenseinstellung“, betonte Alfred Gutschelhofer, der sich in seiner einführenden Präsentation humorvoll mit kleinen gelben Plastik-Enten dem Thema Ent(r)epreneurship widmete. Weitere Impulse kamen vom Direktor der Wirtschaftskammer Steiermark Dr. Karl-Heinz Dernoscheg und DI (FH) Andreas Gerstenmayer, Vorstand der AT&S und „CEO des Jahres 2014“.

Den Eröffnungsvortrag hielt DiTech-Gründer und Bestseller Autor Damian Izdebski. Im Anschluss schilderten Persönlichkeiten der Venture- und Entrepreneurship-Szene ihre Erfahrungen und Perspektiven. Durch die Veranstaltung führte Daniel Cronin, Start-up-Coach, Co-Founder und Vorstandsmitglied von AustrianStartups.

Researchers at the University of Graz have now developed transparent criteria for fair distribution at the subnational level for the first time and determined corresponding greenhouse gas budgets for all European regions. The paper was published today in the scientific journal Nature Communications.

Chemical Christmas show at the University of Graz: An explosive evening at the Schauspielh

At the beginning of December, the University of Graz transformed the theater into a laboratory: as part of “Chemical Life,” teacher training students staged a chemical Christmas show for Styrian school classes—complete with ethanol rockets, nitrogen snow, and glowing effects. An evening designed to inspire interest in studying chemistry.

Train by train: Koralm railway accelerates exchange between the Universities

Lectures at the University of Klagenfurt in the morning, seminars at the University of Graz in the afternoon: Austria's longest tunnel and a journey time of around 45 minutes make it easy. The Koralm railway increases the speed of networking between the two university locations. The collaboration builds on existing cooperation - for example in the areas of teacher training, Slavic studies and as employers, the universities are well coordinated.
