Uni-Roboter schwärmen aus

ForscherInnen der Uni Graz präsentieren bienen-inspirierte Geräte auf der Technologiemesse CeBIT

Roboter nach dem Vorbild von Bienen- oder Fischschwärmen zu bauen, ist Ziel des Projekts CoCoRo - kurz für Collective Cognitive Robots. ZoologInnen der Uni Graz bauen gemeinsam mit InformatikerInnen und SimulationsexpertInnen unterschiedlich große Roboter, die so wie die Tiere kommunizieren können und beispielsweise unter Wasser nach Giftmüll oder Black Boxes von abgestürzten Flugzeugen suchen können. Der derzeit größte Roboter-Schwarm der Welt ist derzeit auf der CeBIT, der großen IT-Messe in Hannover, ausgestellt. "Wir zeigen mit den Modellen Lily und Jeff, einige bio-inspirierte Algorithmen, zum Beispiel die Suche nach einem versunkenen Zielobjekt", erklärt Projektleiter Thomas Schmickl.

Das groß angelegte internationale Forschungsvorhaben wird von der EU gefördert.
