University of Graz invites to a "Botanik Brunch" in the colorful farm garden

Marigold next to radish. Lettuce next to coneflower. A kitchen garden does not only offer colorfulness and culinary delights, it is also the habitat of many small animals. The farm garden from a historical perspective and its implementation today are the focus this year at the "Botanik Brunch" in the Botanical Garden of the University of Graz: on Sunday, September 10, 2023 from 10 am to 2 pm with free admission.

The event for the whole family offers interesting facts and tips for your own garden - even at home on the balcony.

The visitors:inside can marvel at regional cultivated plants, sniff and taste.
Botanical insights into traditional farm garden plants by Dr. Martin Magnes/ Institute of Biology & interesting nutritional facts on well-known vegetable varieties by Dr. Fritz Treiber/ 7th Faculty will be given in the context of short lectures.
Experts will guide all those interested through the botanical diversity of the farm garden.
A varied hands-on program awaits children.
Juan Carlos Sungurlian Barsumian and Franz Schmuck will accompany the Sunday brunch with music.
Café Phönix will take care of the physical well-being.

Admission is free, registration is not required.

At the beginning of December, the University of Graz transformed the theater into a laboratory: as part of “Chemical Life,” teacher training students staged a chemical Christmas show for Styrian school classes—complete with ethanol rockets, nitrogen snow, and glowing effects.
