Der Heinz-Oberhummer-Award für Wissenschaftskommuni-kation 2018 geht an Adam Savage

Was der Oscar für die Filmbranche bedeutet, ist der Heinz-Oberhummer-Award für die Wissenschaftskommunikation. Und der Gewinner 2018 ist der US-Amerikaner Adam Savage. Der Experte für Spezialeffekte, Produzent und Schauspieler sorgte für Furore in Hollywood-Produktionen wie Galaxy Quest, Star Wars: Episode II, The Matrix Reloaded, Terminator 3 und Space Cowboys. Vor allem aber ist Adam Savage als Gastgeber der legendären MythBusters bekannt, der wohl berühmtesten Science-Entertainment-Show der TV-Geschichte.

Der Heinz-Oberhummer-Award wurde von der Universität Graz gemeinsam mit den Science Busters, der Technischen Universität Wien, dem ORF Fernsehen, Radio FM4, dem Wissenschaftsministerium und der Stadt Wien initiiert. Namensgeber ist der legendäre Science Buster, Physiker und Uni-Graz-Absolvent, der 2015 verstorben ist.

Verliehen wird der mit 20.000 Euro dotierte Preis am 23. November 2018 im Wiener Stadtsaal.
