Fachtagung zur Konfliktkultur in Großunternehmen

Internationale ReferentInnen aus Wissenschaft und Praxis haben am Montag, 6. Juni 2016, das Thema Konfliktkultur in Großunternehmen in seinen verschiedenen Facetten betrachtet. Ziel war es, ExpertInnen aus dem Bereich des Konfliktmanagements mit Verantwortlichen und Interessierten zusammenzubringen. Durch den Austausch von Erfahrungen sollten die über 70 TeilnehmerInnen aus den unterschiedlichsten Fachbereichen Ideen und Anregungen für die Implementierung beziehungsweise Optimierung von Konfliktmanagementsystemen in Betrieben, darunter vor allem auch Universitäten, erhalten.


Univ.-Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Kallus vom Institut für Psychologie der Uni Graz machte mit seinem Vortrag („Umgang mit Konflikten und Konflikteskalation am Arbeitsplatz: eine Aufgabe für Führungskräfte?“) den Anfang und führte aus psychologischer Sicht in das Thema ein. Im Anschluss erklärte Experte Dr. Alexander Insam, MA, von KPMG Deutschland wie Unternehmen die teuersten Konfliktkosten vermeiden. Mag. Barbara Wurz gab Einblick in die Zusammenarbeits- und Konfliktkultur an der Med Uni Wien, indem sie von ihren Erfahrungen in der Ausbildung von KonfliktberaterInnen berichtete, während  Mag. Christian Albert seine Sicht als Konfliktberater und Leiter des Büros für Konfliktmanagement an der Uni Wien schilderte. Den Abschluss machte Ombudsperson Wolf Arne Harders, der die Verknüpfung von Konfliktmanagement und Compliance im Großunternehmen General Electric Distributed Power darstellte. Anschließend an die fünf Vorträge nahmen die ExpertInnen zusammen mit der Vizerektorin am Podium, das von Assoz.-Prof. Dr. Sascha Ferz moderiert wurde, Platz und gingen auf die Fragen des interessierten Publikums ein.


Die Tagung wurde vom Forschungsfeld ADR & Mediation sowie dem Zentrum für Soziale Kompetenz veranstaltet und fand im Rahmen des Projektes „Konfliktkultur @ Uni Graz“ statt, das den Einstieg in die Konfliktkulturarbeit an der Universität Graz ebnen soll.

In future, students will benefit from even more joint degree programmes and from simplified recognition of academic achievements through the Joint European Degree Label.

Rescue and risks: Researchers have surveyed public perceptions of AI

The use of artificial intelligence has had to be made transparent since 2 August 2026. The EU’s AI Act, which has been in force since then, also sets out how risky an application is and which security measures apply as a result. However, the assessment of risks by the legislation differs in some cases significantly from the perceptions of the Austrian public. This is the finding of a representative study carried out by data scientist Stefan Thalmann from the University of Graz and his team.

The Healing Sea: Researchers discover new approaches to treating chronic inflammation in sponges

Chronic inflammation plays a key role in many diseases, ranging from metabolic disorders and cardiovascular diseases to tissue damage following injuries or infections. “Normally, the body is able to resolve inflammation on its own. If this process becomes unbalanced, immune cells remain permanently active and continue to drive negative changes in the tissue,” explains Andreas Koeberle, a pharmacist at the University of Graz.
