StipendiatInnen des JungforscherInnen-Fonds geben Einblick in den aktuellen Stand ihrer Arbeiten

Ideologische Steuerung in slowenischen Schulbüchern von 1848 bis 1918, nach 9/11 produzierte US-amerikanische Video Games, Sonnenwind und koronare Löcher sowie der soziale Kontext von Universitätsbediensteten – das sind die Themen, mit denen sich jene DissertantInnen befassen, die im November 2016 ein Stipendium aus dem JungforscherInnen-Fonds erhielten. Die Förderungen in der Höhe von jeweils 1 000 Euro monatlich auf zwei Jahre werden von der Steiermärkischen Sparkasse (gesamt 72 000 Euro) und dem Universitätsrat (24 000 Euro) finanziert. Beim JungforscherInnen-Kolloquium am 25. Jänner 2018 im RESOWI-Zentrum präsentierten die StipendiatInnen auf Einladung der Sponsoren die Ergebnisse ihrer bisherigen Arbeit.

Univ.-Prof. Dr. Peter Scherrer, Vizerektor für Forschung und Nachwuchsförderung, sowie Dr. Gerhard Fabisch, Mitglied des Universitätsrats und Vorstandsvorsitzender Steiermärkische Bank und Sparkassen AG, begrüßten die vier JungforscherInnen, die BetreuerInnen ihrer Arbeiten und einige weitere interessierte ZuhörerInnen.

Train by train: Koralm railway accelerates exchange between the Universities

On the trail of the Big Bang: University of Graz receives 1.5 million euros for doctoral programmes

The Austrian Science Fund FWF has selected the Doctoral Programme in Theoretical Particle Physics at the University of Graz for funding from the Doc.funds. Six young scientists will be funded for 3.5 years. They will gain fundamentally new insights into the origins of the world.

From trans women and knee prostheses: sports science prizes awarded

Walking better with a prosthesis, successfully getting rid of excess weight, training more effectively, more fairness for trans people in sport: these were the topics addressed by the students at the University of Graz who were awarded the sports science prizes for their Master's theses on 3 December 2025.
