Die Campus-Gastronomie legt im August eine Pause ein, geänderte Öffnungszeiten auch bei Gebäuden, Bibliotheken und IT-Infopoints

Die vorlesungsfreie Zeit hat bereits begonnen, nun ändert sich auch bei den Öffnungszeiten der Gebäude und Einrichtungen am Campus der Uni Graz einiges. Hier eine Übersicht, wer und was, wann und wie geöffnet hat:

Juli: Gebäude und die Portierlogen der Uni Graz montags bis freitags von 6 bis 22 Uhr
August: Gebäude und die Portierlogen der Uni Graz montags bis freitags von 6 bis 20 Uhr

Auch die Gastronomie am Campus schaltet im Sommer einen Gang zurück und gönnt sich vor allem im August eine wohlverdiente Verschnaufpause. Wir haben die Öffnungszeiten im Überblick:

Cafe Libresso im Hauptgebäude:
Noch bis 22. Juli von Montag bis Donnerstag von 7:45 Uhr bis 15 Uhr und am Freitag bis 14 Uhr geöffnet; von 23. Juli bis 31. August geschlossen; von 1. bis 30. September von Montag bis Donnerstag von 7:45 Uhr bis 16 Uhr und Freitag bis 14 Uhr geöffnet.

Uni Cafe Campus in der Heinrichstraße sowie das Uni Cafe Wall:
Noch bis 18. Juli von 7:30 Uhr bis 17 Uhr geöffnet; im August geschlossen; im September wieder zu den Juli-Öffnungszeiten offen.

Das Jausenstandl vor der Universitätsbiliothek:
Noch bis 31. Juli von Montag bis Freitag von 5:30 Uhr bis 13:30 Uhr geöffnet; im August geschlossen und im September wieder zu den Juli-Öffnungszeiten offen.

Imbissstand "Nandos":
Im Juli und September von 11 bis 16 Uhr geöffnet; im August geschlossen.

Smoothiestand:
Seit einigen Wochen versorgt Georg Nemeth Studierende und MitarbeiterInnen jeweils donnerstags von 8:30 Uhr bis 15 Uhr an seinem Smoothiestand vor dem RESOWI-Zentrum mit frischgepressten Smoothies und diversen Säften (Apfelsaft, Apfel-Holunder, Apfel-Karotte, Apfel-Johannisbeere) ohne Zusätze und Konservierungsstoffe. Der Smoothiestand hat den ganzen Sommer hindurch geöffnet.

Mensa am Sonnenfelsplatz: Noch bis 14. August täglich von 11 bis 14 Uhr geöffnet; danach bis inklusive 6. September geschlossen.

Rescue and risks: Researchers have surveyed public perceptions of AI

The use of artificial intelligence has had to be made transparent since 2 August 2026. The EU’s AI Act, which has been in force since then, also sets out how risky an application is and which security measures apply as a result. However, the assessment of risks by the legislation differs in some cases significantly from the perceptions of the Austrian public. This is the finding of a representative study carried out by data scientist Stefan Thalmann from the University of Graz and his team.

The Healing Sea: Researchers discover new approaches to treating chronic inflammation in sponges

Chronic inflammation plays a key role in many diseases, ranging from metabolic disorders and cardiovascular diseases to tissue damage following injuries or infections. “Normally, the body is able to resolve inflammation on its own. If this process becomes unbalanced, immune cells remain permanently active and continue to drive negative changes in the tissue,” explains Andreas Koeberle, a pharmacist at the University of Graz.
