Es tut sich was am Campus. Für den Beginn der Baustelle an der Universitätsbibliothek und den Laborsanierungen in der Heinrichstraße 28 müssen in den kommenden Tagen Vorbereitungen getroffen werden. Die Fahrradständer rund um das UB-Gebäude werden am morgigen Freitag auf die gegenüberliegende Straßenseite verlegt. Entlang des RESOWI-Gebäudes und am Eck zum Universitätsplatz 4, wo bislang eine Hütte von 4students gestanden ist, kommen Fahrradabstellplätze. Ebenso an der Nordseite des Hauptgebäudes. Am kommenden Montag ist es dann soweit und die Bauzone wird offiziell errichtet. Dann ist die Zufahrt auf den Campus mit Fahrrädern, einspurigen und mehrspurigen KFZ über die Schubertstraße zwischen Universitätsplatz 2 und RESOWI-Gebäude für die kommenden zwei Jahre nicht mehr möglich. Der barrierefreie Zugang zum RESOWI und zum Campus ist gewährleistet, die Gehwege sind nicht Teil der Bauzone und somit frei passierbar.

Auch im Gebäude in der Heinrichstraße 28, in dem sich das Institut für Chemie befindet, starten Ende März Bauarbeiten. Hier investiert die Uni Graz rund acht Millionen Euro - Extra-Budget aus dem Infrastrukturprogramm des Ministeriums für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Wirtschaft - in die umfassende Sanierung der Laborräume. Und das bei laufendem Lehr- und Forschungsbetrieb. Auch hier ist es notwendig die Fahhradabstellplätze für die Dauer der Arbeiten zu verlegen.
