Die gut gefüllte Aula

Seit zehn Jahren wird die Montagsakademie in Regionen übertragen - über das Internet

Start der Montagsakademie 2013/2014 zum Leitthema "Bildwelten".

Sie ist eines der bekanntesten Weiterbildungsformate der Uni Graz, die Montagsakademie. Seit 2004 wird die Vortragsreihe, die unter dem Motto Bildung für Alle steht, aus der Aula der Universität Graz in österreichische Regionen per Internet übertragen. Insgesamt konnten auf diesem Wege bis heute mehr als 80.000 TeilnehmerInnen erreicht werden.

Leitthema: Bildwelten
Unter dem Thema "Bilder als Spiegel der Gesellschaft?" eröffnete die Grazer Soziologin, Ao. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Katharina Scherke, gestern die neue Saison in der Aula der Uni Graz. Zuvor begrüßte Vizerektor Martin Polaschek die ZuhörerInnen in Graz und in den Regionen: "Die Montagsakadamie ist ein Aushängeschild unserer Universität, die ihren Weiterbildungsauftrag sehr ernst nimmt. Durch sie wird die Spitzenforschung, die an der Uni Graz tagtäglich betrieben wird, ins Land hinaus getragen."

Live-Stream und Onlinevideothek
Baden in Niederösterreich, Bruck an der Mur, Hartberg, Knittelfeld, Leibnitz, Leoben, Liezen und das burgenländische Oberpullendorf sind jene Regionen, in die in diesem Studienjahr live übertragen wird. Die Montagsakademie gibt es auch als Online-Videothek: Auf der Homepage finden sich sämtliche Vorträge der vergangenen Jahre zum Nachschauen. Und für Bücherfans liegen Sammelbände mit allen Vorträgen bei den Veranstaltungen auf.

The Austrian Science Fund FWF has selected the Doctoral Programme in Theoretical Particle Physics at the University of Graz for funding from the Doc.funds. Six young scientists will be funded for 3.5 years. They will gain fundamentally new insights into the origins of the world.

From trans women and knee prostheses: sports science prizes awarded

Walking better with a prosthesis, successfully getting rid of excess weight, training more effectively, more fairness for trans people in sport: these were the topics addressed by the students at the University of Graz who were awarded the sports science prizes for their Master's theses on 3 December 2025.
