Fußball: Bewegte Körper und ein Thema, das bewegt - Konditionstrainer Stefan Arvay und Wissenschafter Gerhard Tschakert über die Zukunft des Sports

Rote Karte für den rot-weiß-roten Fußballsport? Wie steht es um die Zukunft des runden Leders, das die Massen bewegt? Diese und weitere Fragen bewegten in einer weiteren Ausgabe der Uni Graz-Reihe „Der bewegte Körper“ am 7. März 2013 Fußball-Konditionstrainer Stefan Arvay, Sportwissenschafter Gerhard Tschakert und das Publikum im gut besuchten Hörsaal des Zentrums für Molekulare Biowissenschaften. Arvay war spontan für den erkrankten Werner Gregoritsch, Trainer des Österreichischen U21-Nationalteams, eingesprungen.

Tschakert stellte sowohl gekonnt die Brücke zwischen Wissenschaft und Sportpraxis her als auch gleich zu Beginn die zentrale Frage: „Warum wird die Kluft zwischen Spitzensport und österreichischem Fußball immer größer?“ Arvay – seit 2007 beim KSV Kapfenberg – ortete unter anderem eine mangelnde Nachwuchsförderung: „Es wird meist nur die Spitze betrachtet und auf die langfristige Entwicklung, die schon bei der Jugend starten muss, vergessen.“ Zudem fehle es an Motivation: „Die Spieler werden in den heimischen Ligen zu wenig gefordert, um eine Leistungssteigerung zu erreichen.“ Denn als Legionäre im Ausland, so der Experte, übernehmen Österreicher oft eine führende Rolle.

Die Veranstaltungsreihe „der bewegte Körper“ ist Teil der 7. fakultät, des Zentrums für Gesellschaft, Wissen und Kommunikation an der Uni Graz. Bei der offenen Vorlesung werden wissenschaftliche Aspekte in den Bereichen körperliche Leistungsfähigkeit, Gesundheit durch Bewegung, Ernährung, Körperkult und Sportkommunikation beleuchtet und einem breiten Publikum näher gebracht.
