Studierende sammeln im Juni Altpapier zur sinnvollen Wiederverwertung

Der "Circle of Excellence" ist ein Verein zur Förderung ausgezeichneter Studierender. Alle Teilnehmenden müssen jedes Jahr ein Abschlussprojekt mit ökologischem und sozialem Mehrwert umsetzen.

Ein besonderes Projekt hat sich das Team "ReBlock", vertreten durch Isabella Painhapp, Teresa Kager, Stefan Holl und Walter Hermann, vorgenommen: Die Studierenden sammeln im Juni 2015 an der Universität Graz Altpapier, um daraus neue, wiederverwertbare Recyclingblöcke herzustellen. Selbstverständlich wird das dafür benötigte Altpapier vor der Verwendung auf etwaige sensible Daten genau geprüft. Die Blöcke werden zu Beginn des Wintersemesters am Campus verkauft, der Reinerlös karitativen Einrichtungen gespendet.

Die Uni Graz unterstützt diese Nachhaltigkeits-Initiative. In den kommenden Wochen wird das "ReBlock"-Team daher an verschiedenen Instituten speziell ausgewiesene Altpapier-Sammelboxen aufstellen. Sie werden von den Studierenden regelmäßig entleert und nach Ende der Sammelzeit wieder entfernt.

Chronic inflammation plays a key role in many diseases, ranging from metabolic disorders and cardiovascular diseases to tissue damage following injuries or infections. “Normally, the body is able to resolve inflammation on its own. If this process becomes unbalanced, immune cells remain permanently active and continue to drive negative changes in the tissue,” explains Andreas Koeberle, a pharmacist at the University of Graz.
