Mobilität ohne Hürden

Uni Graz hat in Sachen barrierefreier Campus die Nase vorn

Ein Lift mit Sprachausgabe, automatische Brandschutztüren mit Türöffner, elektrische Schiebetüren und zahlreiche Rampen für RollstuhlbenutzerInnen sind einige Maßnahmen, die in den letzten Jahren getätigt wurden, um den Campus der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz nahezu barrierefrei zu gestalten. „Wir sind zu 90 Prozent barrierefrei. Es gibt nur noch wenige Zonen, die es nicht sind“, zeigt sich Barbara Levc, Leiterin des Zentrums Integriert Studieren an der Uni Graz zufrieden. Sie und ihre MitarbeiterInnen sind unter anderem auch dafür zuständig, dass sich Uni-Bedienstete und Studierende möglichst barrierefrei am Campus bewegen können. „Im Unterschied zu anderen Grazer Unis sind wir sehr gut aufgestellt“, betont Levc.

 

Bodenleitsystem für blinde Menschen
Erfreulich ist, dass die neugebauten und generalsanierten Universitätsgebäude, wie etwa die Theologie in der Heinrichstraße oder das Laborgebäude am Universitätsplatz 1, mit einem Bodenleitsystem für sehbehinderte Menschen versehen wurden. Auch gibt es in den neuen HörerInnenlabors höhenverstellbare Labortische, die ein Studieren und Forschen für Personen, die im Rollstuhl sitzen, einfacher möglich macht.

The Austrian Science Fund FWF has selected the Doctoral Programme in Theoretical Particle Physics at the University of Graz for funding from the Doc.funds. Six young scientists will be funded for 3.5 years. They will gain fundamentally new insights into the origins of the world.

Walking better with a prosthesis, successfully getting rid of excess weight, training more effectively, more fairness for trans people in sport: these were the topics addressed by the students at the University of Graz who were awarded the sports science prizes for their Master's theses on 3 December 2025.
