Mit der Tram nach China

Einsteigen bitte: Das Konfuzius-Institut der Uni Graz stellte sich in der City vor

Das Konfuzius-Institut der Uni Graz ist auf Schiene: Und das buchstäblich mit einer Gratis-Fahrt in einer Oldtimer-Tram, die am 4. Oktober 2017 anlässlich des weltweiten Tages der Konfuzius-Institute durch Graz fuhr. In der Tram konnten die Fahrgäste sowohl die Aktivitäten des Konfuzius-Instituts der Uni Graz kennenlernen als auch Schmankerl der chinesischen Küche verkosten.
Ebenfalls mit an Bord: Stadtrat Günter Riegler, Vizerektor Martin Polaschek, der Leiter des Konfuzius-Instituts der Uni Graz, Wan Jie Chen, sowie eine chinesische Delegation der Partneruniversität Jiangsu.

Fast 400 Konfuzius-Institute gibt es mittlerweile in mehr als 100 Ländern, die neben der Kultur des „Reichs der Mitte“ auch die chinesische Sprache vermitteln. Chinesische Traditionen wie Kalligrafie, Kampfkunst, Feng-Shui oder auch TCM (traditionelle chinesische Medizin) gehören zu populären Exportschlagern, die auch im Konfuzus-Instituts der Uni Graz stark nachgefragt werden.

Ein sportliches Angebot  können Interessierte bereits morgen, Freitag, den 6. Oktober 2017 ausprobieren. Und zwar mit Meister Yu Chang Fu aus Qingdao/China, der Grundübungen, Anwendungen und eine Sequenz aus einer Taiji-Fächer-Übung zeigt. Bereits in der Ming und Qing-Dynastie integrierte man Wushu (Kampfkunst) und Fechten in die Bewegungen mit Fächern. Schließlich entstand eine Sportart mit faltbaren Fächern und Wushu-Elementen, einer Mischung aus Kunst, Fitness und Verteidigung.

The Austrian Science Fund FWF has selected the Doctoral Programme in Theoretical Particle Physics at the University of Graz for funding from the Doc.funds. Six young scientists will be funded for 3.5 years. They will gain fundamentally new insights into the origins of the world.

From trans women and knee prostheses: sports science prizes awarded

Walking better with a prosthesis, successfully getting rid of excess weight, training more effectively, more fairness for trans people in sport: these were the topics addressed by the students at the University of Graz who were awarded the sports science prizes for their Master's theses on 3 December 2025.
