AirCampus-Podcast: Was kann das Konzept Service Learning?

Die Podcast-Plattform der Grazer Universtitäten, der AirCampus, präsentiert in dieser Woche Wissens-Beiträge zu folgenden Themen:

1) Lernen für uns alle: Raus aus der Uni und ab ins Arbeitsleben – aber wie, ohne richtige Praxiserfahrungen? Die Lösung: Das Lehr-/Lernformat Service Learning, bei dem das angeeignete Wissen im Studium praktisch angewendet wird.

2) Offene Unis: Das Maturazeugnis ist schon fast in der Tasche, nun stellt sich die Frage nach dem richtigen Studium. Der Tag der offenen Tür am 25. April soll bei dieser Entscheidung helfen. Mit dabei sind die TU Graz, Uni Graz und Kunstuniversität Graz mit jeweils unterschiedlichem Programm.

3) Kraftpakete im Osterkorb: Wer zu Ostern ein Ei ist, nimmt ein wahres Kraftpaket zu sich - doch es ist nicht das einzige gesunde Lebensmittel, das die traditionelle Jause bereithält. Aber Vorsicht: Qualität und Menge machen einen Riesenunterschied.

4) Schön und gut? Wann ist Musik, wann eine Perfomance gelungen? Und wie kulturell abhängig sind diese Bewertungen? Andreas Dorschel von der KUG beantwortet diese Fragen im Vorfeld einer internationalen Tagung mit VertreterInnen aus vier Kontinenten Anfang Mai in Graz.

Was ist der AirCampus?
Das Podcast-Projekt der vier Grazer Universitäten versorgt MitarbeiterInnen, Studierende sowie alle Interessierten das ganze Studienjahr über mit wissenswerten Infos aus der Welt der Forschung, aus dem Bildungsbereich und dem Campusleben der Karl-Franzens-Universität, Technischen Universität, Medizinischen Universität und Kunstuniversität. Früher als "Webradio" bekannt, gibt es auf der Website http://www.aircampus-graz.at auch alle Podcasts, die vor dem 2. Oktober 2017 publiziert wurden, im Archiv zum Nachhören. Uns gibt es übrigens auch auf Spotify und iTunes!

Die Initiative erhielt 2012 den Inge-Morath-Preis des Landes Steiermark, 2017 den PR-Panther in der Kategorie "Wissenschaft" und 2018 den Green Panther in der Kategorie Online Kommunikation.

At the beginning of December, the University of Graz transformed the theater into a laboratory: as part of “Chemical Life,” teacher training students staged a chemical Christmas show for Styrian school classes—complete with ethanol rockets, nitrogen snow, and glowing effects. An evening designed to inspire interest in studying chemistry.

Train by train: Koralm railway accelerates exchange between the Universities

Lectures at the University of Klagenfurt in the morning, seminars at the University of Graz in the afternoon: Austria's longest tunnel and a journey time of around 45 minutes make it easy. The Koralm railway increases the speed of networking between the two university locations. The collaboration builds on existing cooperation - for example in the areas of teacher training, Slavic studies and as employers, the universities are well coordinated.

On the trail of the Big Bang: University of Graz receives 1.5 million euros for doctoral programmes

The Austrian Science Fund FWF has selected the Doctoral Programme in Theoretical Particle Physics at the University of Graz for funding from the Doc.funds. Six young scientists will be funded for 3.5 years. They will gain fundamentally new insights into the origins of the world.
