Netzwerktreffen zur LehrerInnenaubildung NEU an der Uni Graz. Verleihung des Viktor-Obendrauf-Preises

Sechs Hochschulen, drei Bundesländer, ein gemeinsames Ziel: die LehrerInnenausbildung gemeinsam auf neue Beine zu stellen. Unter dem Motto „Moving Forward“ lud die Universität Graz zum Netzwerktreffen des Entwicklungsverbundes Süd-Ost, zu dem neben der größten steirischen Hochschule auch die Universität Klagenfurt, die Pädagogische Hochschule Steiermark, die Kirchliche Pädagogische Hochschule Graz sowie die Pädagogischen Hochschulen Burgenland und Kärnten gehören. An der Organisation des Treffens beteiligt zeichnete sich das "Zentrum für PädagogInnenbildung NEU" der Uni Graz.

Programmhöhepunkte waren, neben zahlreichen Vorträgen, eine Podiumsdiskussion zum Thema „Projekt Curricula NEU – Einheitliche Lehramtsstudien für die Sekundarstufe Allgemeinbildung im Entwicklungsverbund Süd-Ost“ mit den zuständigen RektorInnen und VizerektorInnen sowie die Verleihung des Viktor-Obendrauf-Preises für ausgezeichnete Abschlussarbeiten im Bereich der Fachdidaktik. Mag. Philipp Stummer, Dr. Eva Kaufmann und Mag. Judith Bedenik erhielten die mit jeweils 1.000 Euro dotierte Auszeichnung, die heuer zum dritten Mal vergeben wurde. Der Preis erinnert an den 2010 verstorbenen Chemiker Viktor Obendrauf, dessen kreative ExperimentalvorlesungenSchülerInnen und Studierende gleichermaßen begeisterten.

In future, students will benefit from even more joint degree programmes and from simplified recognition of academic achievements through the Joint European Degree Label.

Rescue and risks: Researchers have surveyed public perceptions of AI

The use of artificial intelligence has had to be made transparent since 2 August 2026. The EU’s AI Act, which has been in force since then, also sets out how risky an application is and which security measures apply as a result. However, the assessment of risks by the legislation differs in some cases significantly from the perceptions of the Austrian public. This is the finding of a representative study carried out by data scientist Stefan Thalmann from the University of Graz and his team.

Chronic inflammation plays a key role in many diseases, ranging from metabolic disorders and cardiovascular diseases to tissue damage following injuries or infections. “Normally, the body is able to resolve inflammation on its own. If this process becomes unbalanced, immune cells remain permanently active and continue to drive negative changes in the tissue,” explains Andreas Koeberle, a pharmacist at the University of Graz.
