JuniorAcademic-Preis an drei exzellente MaturantInnen in geisteswissenschaftlichen Fächern vergeben

Die Lebendigkeit und Gefährdung des steirischen Dialekts, die Partisanenbewegung in Kärnten und das Königreich Granada am Ende des 15. Jahrhunderts – mit diesen Themen punkteten drei MaturantInnen beim diesjährigen JuniorAcademic-Preis. Die Auszeichnung für die besten Fachbereichsarbeiten in geisteswissenschaftlichen Fächern wurde heute, 18. Juni 2014, an der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz an Bernhard Riedler, Lena Christina Krämer und Hanna Gsell vergeben.


Besonderes wissenschaftliches Talent bereits vor dem Eintritt ins Universitätsleben zu erkennen, zu fördern und zu würdigen, ist Ziel des JuniorAcademic-Preises der KinderUniGraz. SchülerInnen der AHS- und BHS-Maturaklassen in der gesamten Steiermark hatten die Möglichkeit, ihre Fachbereichsarbeiten einer Jury zur Begutachtung vorzulegen. Diese bestand aus einer Wissenschafterin der Karl-Franzens-Universität, einer Schulvertreterin, einer Mitarbeiterin der KinderUniGraz sowie Martin Polaschek, Vizerektor für Studium und Lehre. Aus 20 Einreichungen wurden schließlich die drei besten Arbeiten in den Fächern Deutsch, Fremdsprachen und Geschichte gekürt. Die GewinnerInnen erhielten jeweils einen Büchergutschein im Wert von 400 Euro, ihre Schulen einen Büchergutschein in der Höhe von 100 Euro.


Der JuniorAcademic-Preis, 2011 das erste Mal verliehen, ist eine Initiative der KinderUniGraz, die ihrerseits von der Friedrich-Schmiedl-Stiftung und dem Bundesministerium für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Wirtschaft unterstützt wird. Die Preisgelder stellt das Vizerektorat für Studium und Lehre der Uni Graz zur Verfügung.


Die PreisträgerInnen 2014 sind:


Hanna Gsell: „Die Partisanenbewegung in Kärnten – Unterdrückung, Widerstand, Erinnerung“ (Bischöfliches Gymnasium Graz)


Lena Christina Krämer: „El reino nazari de Granada 1482-1492” (BG GIBS Graz)


Bernhard Riedler: „Die Lebendigkeit und Gefährdung des steirischen Dialekts“ (BRG Kepler Graz)

The Austrian Science Fund FWF has selected the Doctoral Programme in Theoretical Particle Physics at the University of Graz for funding from the Doc.funds. Six young scientists will be funded for 3.5 years. They will gain fundamentally new insights into the origins of the world.

From trans women and knee prostheses: sports science prizes awarded

Walking better with a prosthesis, successfully getting rid of excess weight, training more effectively, more fairness for trans people in sport: these were the topics addressed by the students at the University of Graz who were awarded the sports science prizes for their Master's theses on 3 December 2025.
