Angehende JuristInnen treten bei renommierten "VIS Moot Court" an. Unterstützt werden sie vom Vizerektorat für Studium und Lehre

Der Traum junger JuristInnen bereits während der Studienzeit im Gerichtssaal zu stehen und das erlernte Wissen gezielt einzusetzen, wird bei so genannten Moot Courts zur Realität. Diese "nachgestellten" Verhandlungen erlauben es, dass Studierende der Rechtswissenschaften in einem sicheren Umfeld anhand gut ausgewählter Beispiele ihre Fähigkeiten unter Beweis stellen können. Ein Team der Uni Graz tritt im März unter der Leitung von Univ.-Prof. Dr. Bettina Nunner-Krautgasser und Univ.-Prof. Dr. Christian Aschauer beim Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, der seit 1994 in Wien und in Hongkong abgehalten wird, an.

Der Moot Court erlaubt es den zehn Studierenden bei einem nachgestellten Schiedsverfahren die praktische Anwendung von internationalem Wirtschaftsrecht zu erlernen. Insgesamt nehmen 300 Universitäten weltweit dieser Veranstaltung teil. Vizerektor Martin Polaschek unterestützt durch Charly & Frances-Verein für Studierende die Initiative mit 3000 Euro.

The astrophysicists have developed an AI-supported method that makes even the smallest structures on the Sun visible. The scientists are convinced that this will bring about a lasting change in solar observation and that the new method can be used for the planned European Solar Telescope.

Long Night of Research: How many languages are there in the world?

These and other questions will be answered during the Long Night of Research at the University of Graz: on Friday, 24 April 2025, from 5 pm to 11 pm, in the University Library. Visitors can immerse themselves in the diversity of languages without travelling far by taking part in a quiz at the station.
