Imame und islamische SeelsorgerInnen zu Gast an der Katholisch-Theologischen Fakultät

Am 22. April 2015 besuchten Grazer Imame und muslimische SeelsorgerInnen die Katholisch-Theologische Fakultät der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz. Sie nehmen derzeit an einem Deutschkurs des Österreichischen Integrationsfonds in Graz (FIMUS) teil, der fachlich wichtige religiöse und theologische Begriffe und Zusammenhänge in den Vordergrund stellt. Auf diese Weise können die Dialogfähigkeit der TeilnehmerInnen gestärkt und ein Beitrag zur Integration geleistet werden.

Das Institut für Religionswissenschaft, das seit Jahren vielfältige Beziehungen zur muslimischen Community unterhält, hat dieses Treffen zusammen mit dem Österreichischen Integrationsfonds organisiert. Das Institut weist auch einen Islam-Schwerpunkt in Forschung und Lehre auf, der in das Masterstudium „Religionswissenschaft“ einfließt, den die Katholisch-Theologische Fakultät anbietet. Bei dieser Begegnung stand das gegenseitige Kennenlernen im Vordergrund. Zudem waren inhaltliche Fragen zu Christentum und Islam Teil des gegenseitigen fachlichen Austausches.

Im Anschluss besichtigten die Imame und SeelsorgerInnen die Fakultät und die Fakultätsbibliothek, in der umfangreiche Fachliteratur und Fachzeitschriften, natürlich auch zum Islam, öffentlich zugänglich sind.

Rescue and risks: Researchers have surveyed public perceptions of AI

The use of artificial intelligence has had to be made transparent since 2 August 2026. The EU’s AI Act, which has been in force since then, also sets out how risky an application is and which security measures apply as a result. However, the assessment of risks by the legislation differs in some cases significantly from the perceptions of the Austrian public. This is the finding of a representative study carried out by data scientist Stefan Thalmann from the University of Graz and his team.

Chronic inflammation plays a key role in many diseases, ranging from metabolic disorders and cardiovascular diseases to tissue damage following injuries or infections. “Normally, the body is able to resolve inflammation on its own. If this process becomes unbalanced, immune cells remain permanently active and continue to drive negative changes in the tissue,” explains Andreas Koeberle, a pharmacist at the University of Graz.
