Bewerbungsfrist läuft noch bis zum 13. April. Wahl für den 23. Juni geplant.

Die Funktion der Rektorin/des Rektors der Universität Graz wurde am 16. Februar 2022 ausgeschrieben (siehe 38. Sondernummer des Mitteilungsblattes, Stück 18.a). Die Bewerbungsfrist läuft noch bis 13. April 2022. Der Universitätsrat hat eine Personalberatungsagentur - Perrett Laver mit Sitz in Amsterdam - engagiert, die Findung zu begleiten. Die Ausschreibung wird seit Beginn der Bewerbungsfrist in allen namhaften deutschsprachigen Zeitungen und in einem Wissenschaftsmagazin beworben. Die Mitglieder der Findungskommission, Caroline List und Regina Friedrich für den Universitätsrat sowie Rainer Niemann und Edith Gößnitzer für den Senat haben den langjährigen Rektor der TU Graz, Hans Sünkel, als fünftes Mitglied und zum Vorsitzenden gewählt. Die Findungskommission wird bis zum 20. Mai 2022 eine Vorauswahl von maximal sechs KandidatInnen treffen, die zum öffentlichen Hearing am 13. Juni 2022 eingeladen werden. Die Wahl der Rektorin/ des Rektors ist für den 23. Juni 2022 geplant. Anfang Oktober 2022 soll das neue Rektorat seine Arbeit aufnehmen.

The paper was published today in the scientific journal Nature Communications.

Chemical Christmas show at the University of Graz: An explosive evening at the Schauspielh

At the beginning of December, the University of Graz transformed the theater into a laboratory: as part of “Chemical Life,” teacher training students staged a chemical Christmas show for Styrian school classes—complete with ethanol rockets, nitrogen snow, and glowing effects. An evening designed to inspire interest in studying chemistry.

Train by train: Koralm railway accelerates exchange between the Universities

Lectures at the University of Klagenfurt in the morning, seminars at the University of Graz in the afternoon: Austria's longest tunnel and a journey time of around 45 minutes make it easy. The Koralm railway increases the speed of networking between the two university locations. The collaboration builds on existing cooperation - for example in the areas of teacher training, Slavic studies and as employers, the universities are well coordinated.
