High Noon: Kurz-Vortrag für Lehrende zu Mittag am 25. März

„High Noon“ für Hochschuldidaktik heißt es an der Uni Graz mehrmals im Semester. Jeweils um 12 Uhr mittags gibt es in der Mittagspause kurze, knackige „Happen“ rund um das zentrale Lehre-Thema. Und das mit regem Interesse: Bei der Auftakt-Veranstaltung fürs Sommersemester mit Doris Pany vom Schreibzentrum der Uni Graz gab es Anfang März einen neuen BesucherInnen-Rekord.

Bei der nächsten Ausgabe von „High Noon“ am Mittwoch, dem 25. März 2015, steht wiederum ein interessanter Kurz-Vortrag mit Biss auf dem Menüplan. Birgit Szczyrba informiert zwischen 12 und 13 Uhr im Seminarraum 38.21, Harrachgasse 23, 2. Obergeschoß, über Learning outcomes „lupenrein“ formulieren – Anspruch und Transparenz von Lernprozessen.
Die Leiterin des Kompetenzteams Hochschuldidaktik der Fachhochschule Köln beantwortet folgende Fragen: Wie werden Learning Outcomes treffsicher formuliert, um den Anspruch von Lehrveranstaltungen transparent und einlösbar zu machen? Wie können klar formulierte Learning Outcomes Lehr- und Lernsituationen professionell erweitern?

Dr. Birgit Szczyrba ist Leiterin des Kompetenzteams Hochschuldidaktik der Fachhochschule Köln, stellvertretende Vorsitzende der Akkreditierungskommission der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Hochschuldidaktik und Sprecherin des Netzwerks Wissenschaftscoaching. Arbeitsschwerpunkte: Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten von Maßnahmen der Lehrkompetenzentwicklung in der „lernenden Hochschule“.

Rescue and risks: Researchers have surveyed public perceptions of AI

The use of artificial intelligence has had to be made transparent since 2 August 2026. The EU’s AI Act, which has been in force since then, also sets out how risky an application is and which security measures apply as a result. However, the assessment of risks by the legislation differs in some cases significantly from the perceptions of the Austrian public. This is the finding of a representative study carried out by data scientist Stefan Thalmann from the University of Graz and his team.

Chronic inflammation plays a key role in many diseases, ranging from metabolic disorders and cardiovascular diseases to tissue damage following injuries or infections. “Normally, the body is able to resolve inflammation on its own. If this process becomes unbalanced, immune cells remain permanently active and continue to drive negative changes in the tissue,” explains Andreas Koeberle, a pharmacist at the University of Graz.
