Gottfried Schatz beurteilt Kooperation BioTechMed-Graz als „erfreuliche Entwicklung“ am Standort

Die Kooperation BioTechMed-Graz gewinnt zunehmend an Bedeutung: Die erfolgreiche Initiative zur Zusammenarbeit und Vernetzung der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz, der Medizinischen Universität Graz und der TU Graz agiert an der Schnittstelle von Biomedizinischen Grundlagen, Technologischen Entwicklungen und Medizinischer Anwendung – mit dem Ziel einer gemeinsamen Forschung für Gesundheit.

Der international bedeutende Biochemiker und ehemalige Präsident des Schweizerischen Wissenschafts- und Technologierats Gottfried Schatz beurteilt BioTechMed-Graz als „erfreuliche Entwicklung“ am Standort Graz: „Die drei universitären Hauptakteure haben sich zusammengetan, um fern von gewohnten Strukturen etwas Neues zu erproben. Sie haben sich auf eine Experimentierwiese begeben und setzen damit ein starkes Signal für andere.“ Großes Potenzial ortet der Absolvent der Uni Graz in der Ausbildung des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses: „Die Kooperation inspiriert zu neuen Mechanismen für eine optimale Betreuung von Doktoranden in Form einer Graduate School. Diese würde die Doktoranden dazu anhalten, über ihr eigenes Fachgebiet hinaus zu blicken und sich fachlich zu vernetzen.“ Außerdem, so Schatz, sei es essenziell, das BioMedTech Programm ausschließlich in Englisch zu führen, um junge Talente aus der ganzen Welt zu rekrutieren und weltweite Sichtbarkeit zu gewährleisten.

Rescue and risks: Researchers have surveyed public perceptions of AI
