Indonesische Projektpartnerin berichtet an der Uni Graz über Lombok

Auf Lombok beschäftigen sich Geographie-Studierende der Universität Graz im Zuge einer Exkursion im Frühjahr damit, wie sich Massentourismus und Ökologie vereinbaren lassen. Und Nachhaltigkeit setzt sich über das Forschungsthema hinaus fort. Geographie-Professor Ulrich Ermann hat unmittelbar nach den schweren Erdbeben auf der indonesischen Insel eine Spendenaktion ins Leben gerufen, um den Wiederaufbau zu unterstützen: https://www.gofundme.com/hilfe-fur-lombok

Am Donnerstag, den 30. August 2018, kommt die indonesische Aktivistin und NGO-Gründerin Aisyah Siti an die Universität Graz, um im Rahmen einer öffentlichen Veranstaltung zum einen sich über die Forschungskooperation auszutauschen, zum anderen um über die aktuelle Situation auf der Insel Lombok zu berichten.
Ermann war mit 23 Studierenden im vergangenen März auf der Insel. Dabei übernachtete die Gruppe im Dorf Mentigi, das beim Erdbeben zerstört wurde. „Außerdem haben wir im Armutsviertel Ampenan, einem Vorort der Stadt Mataram, in Privatunterkünften gewohnt, für das Aisyah Siti Projekte durchführt, um die Lebenssituation der lokalen Bevölkerung und die Umweltqualität zu verbessern“, berichtet Ermann.
Aisyah Siti wird am Donnerstag sowohl über ihre ehrenamtliche Arbeit im Zusammenhang mit den Plastikmüll-Problemen als auch über die Folgen des Erdbebens sprechen und diskutieren. Außerdem wird der im Zuge der Exkursion entstandene Dokumentarfilm „Bali & Lombok“ gezeigt.
