Universität Graz bietet von 13. Juli bis 11. September 2020 Science Holidays für Kinder an

Die Ferien stehen vor der Tür und in Sachen Kinderbetreuung ist der Sommer 2020 eine große Herausforderung für viele Eltern. Die österreichischen Universitäten haben deshalb in diesem Jahr ein umfangreiches Betreuungsangebot auf die Beine gestellt: die Science Holidays, die von 13. Juli bis 11. September 2020, jeweils von Montag bis Freitag, laufen. Das Bundesministerium für Bildung, Wissenschaft und Forschung unterstützt die teilnehmenden Hochschulen – darunter ist auch die Universität Graz – mit insgesamt rund 600.000 Euro für die Umsetzung.

Unter dem Motto „Mach Ferien in der Welt der Wissenschaft“ gibt es neun Wochen lang verschiedene Workshops in kleinen Gruppen, die kostenfrei besucht werden können. Thematisch bietet die Universität Graz eine bunte Palette an: von Biologie, Chemie und Geographie über Geschichte, Philosophie und Sportwissenschaften bis hin zu Klimaforschung und Umweltschutz. „Die Teilnehmenden können bei uns Universitätsluft schnuppern, knifflige Fragen mit ForscherInnen diskutieren und auf phantasievolle Weise in die Welt der Wissenschaft eintauchen“, schildert die Organisatorin an der Uni Graz, Julia Spiegl.

These and other questions will be answered during the Long Night of Research at the University of Graz: on Friday, 24 April 2025, from 5 pm to 11 pm, in the University Library. Visitors can immerse themselves in the diversity of languages without travelling far by taking part in a quiz at the station.
