Erfolgreicher MOOC

Am 21. Juni geht der MOOC "The EU and Human Rights" in die zweite Runde. Anmeldung noch möglich.

Massive Open Online Courses sind ein neuer Trend, der sich vor allem für die Verbreitung universitären Wissens anbietet. Am Europäischen Trainings- und Forschungszentrum für Menschenrechte und Demokratie - ETC - hat im Herbst letzten Jahres ein MOOC zum Thema "The EU and Human Rights" mehr als 8000 TeilnehmerInnen angelockt und erreicht. Nach einem erfolgreichen ersten Durchgang mit TeilnehmerInnen aus über 170 Ländern wird der MOOC im Rahmen des Forschungsprojekts FRAME jetzt noch einmal angeboten. Start des neuen Kurses ist am 21. Juni 2016.

Basierend auf dem Projekt FRAME (Fostering Human Rights Among European Policies), einem großen Forschungsprojekt im 7. Rahmenprogramm der EU (FP7), bietet die Universität Leuven den sechswöchigen MOOC (Massive Open On-line Course) an für alle, die sich für Menschenrechte und für die EU sowie Europäisches Recht, Europäische Studien, Internationale Beziehungen, Global Governance etc. interessieren. Der Zugang zum Kurs ist offen. TeilnehmerInnen, die schon Basiskenntnissen der EU und des Menschenrechtssystems haben, werden die Einheiten aber leichter bewältigen können.

Der Studienplan umfasst menschenrechtliche Grundlagen mit der EU im Zentrum des Interesses. Ziel des Intensivkurses ist es, das Verständnis der TeilnehmerInnen dafür, wie die EU, allein oder in Kooperation mit anderen lokalen oder globalen, staatlichen oder nichtstaatlichen AkteurInnen, Menschenrechte weltweit besser fördern und verteidigen kann, zu verbessern.
