Franz Mayr-Melnhof-Saurau inspiziert die Bienenforschung an der Uni Graz

Soziale Insekten und deren Gesundheit untersucht Biologin Dalial Freitak. Die von ihr entwickelte Schluckimpfung für Bienen wurde zu Jahresbeginn in den USA zugelassen. Ein Bild von ihrer Forschung machten sich am 19. April 2023 Franz Mayr-Melnhof-Saurau, Vizepräsident der Industriellenvereinigung Steiermark sowie Landesjägermeister, und Marion Kranabitl-Sarkleti, die Geschäftsführerin der Jägerschaft Steiermark. Vizerektor Markus Fallenböck begleitete die beiden durch die Universität.
Dalial Freitak betreibt einen Teil ihrer Forschung zu Ameisen auf dem Areal der von der Steirischen Landesjägerschaft betriebenen Naturwelten Steiermark in Mixnitz.

Two studies published in leading journals have identified a mechanism that links genes, chemical signals and the physical properties of tissues. Das gemeinsame Interesse an Naturschutz bringt die Universität Graz und die Steirische Jägerschaft in einem ungewöhnlichen Projekt zusammen: Biologin Dalial Freitak, Spezialistin für soziale Insekten und deren Gesundheit, wird künftig auch Waldforschung auf dem Areal der Naturwelten Steiermark in Mixnitz betreiben.
