Aktuelle Forschungsergebnisse zur Stadtgeschichte, viel Wissenswertes und auch das eine oder andere Schmankerl finden sich im Historischen Jahrbuch der Stadt Graz. Der jüngste Band ist ab sofort über die Open-Access-Plattform uni.pub auch online abrufbar. Er widmet sich jenen Institutionen, die Geschichte und Geschichten archivieren und sammeln und enthält neueste Erkenntnisse zum 19. und 20. Jahrhundert. Unter den AutorInnen sind zahlreiche MitarbeiterInnen der Karl-Franzens-Universität, auch im HerausgeberInnenteam, dem auch Otto Hochreiter, Friedrich Bouvier und Wolfram Dornik angehören, ist die Uni mit Nikolaus Reisinger und Karin Schmidlechner vertreten.

Das Historische Jahrbuch der Stadt Graz erscheint seit 1968 einmal jährlich und präsentiert Stadtgeschichte aus den verschiedensten Disziplinen. Die Beiträge sind an ein breites Publikum gerichtet. Die gedruckte Version erscheint im Leykam Verlag, drei Monate später wird der jeweilige Band von nun an im Internet veröffentlicht. Damit sollen auch internationale ExpertInnen zur Stadtgeschichteforschung gezielter erreicht werden.
