Die neue UNIZEIT bringt einen bunten Ausschnitt aus neuen Forschungsergebnissen, von der Biologie über die Psychologie bis hin zur Betriebswirtschaft.

Österreichs Artenvielfalt im Tier- und Pflanzenreich wird derzeit in einer riesigen Online-Datenbank dokumentiert. Das Projekt ABOL - für Austrian Barcode of Life - wird federführend von WissenschafterInnen der Uni Graz betrieben, wie in der Titelgeschichte der aktuellen UNIZEIT nachzulesen ist. Einige Auszüge aus der Forschungsvielfalt sind in diesem Heft dokumentiert. So haben etwa UmweltsystemwissenschafterInnen und JuristInnen ein Konzept für die Nutzung von Sonnenenergie in der Stadt entwickelt, PädagogInnen und PsychologInnen erforschen Wege, wie Jugendliche unbeeinflusst von Stereotypen den passenden Lehrberuf finden, und ein Team am Zentrum für Interamerikanische Studien durchleuchtet den kulturell geprägten Begriff des Alters.

The Austrian Science Fund FWF has selected the Doctoral Programme in Theoretical Particle Physics at the University of Graz for funding from the Doc.funds. Six young scientists will be funded for 3.5 years. They will gain fundamentally new insights into the origins of the world.

Walking better with a prosthesis, successfully getting rid of excess weight, training more effectively, more fairness for trans people in sport: these were the topics addressed by the students at the University of Graz who were awarded the sports science prizes for their Master's theses on 3 December 2025.
