Uni Graz organisiert Aktionstage zur Politischen Bildung

Ende Mai wählt die Steiermark einen neuen Landtag. Rund 54.000 Teenager, die bis jetzt noch kein Kreuzerl machen durften, sind dabei zu den Urnen aufgerufen. Um sie für politische Themen zu sensibilisieren, organisieren das Regionale Fachdidaktikzentrum für Geschichte und Politische Bildung sowie das Europäische Trainings- und Forschungszentrum für Menschenrechte und Demokratie der Uni Graz von 23. April bis 9. Mai 2015 erstmals Aktionstage zur politischen Bildung in der Steiermark. Mit Workshops, Planspielen, einer Diskussionsveranstaltung zu den steirischen Wahlen, einem Philosophy Slam und vielem mehr soll bei SchülerInnen und LehrerInnen, Studierenden und alle Interessierten ein besseres Bewusstsein für politisches Denken und Handeln geweckt werden.
„Zahlreiche Studien zeigen den Bedarf an politischer Bildung im sekundären und tertiären Bereich. Wir nehmen als Universität unsere Verantwortung diesbezüglich wahr und stellen auch die vielfältigen Angebote anderer steirischer Institutionen vor“, betont Ao.Univ.-Prof. Dr. Martin Polaschek, Vizerektor für Studium und Lehre der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz.
Insgesamt zwölf Organisationen beteiligen sich an den Aktionstagen. Sie stellen ihr Programm im Rahmen der Auftaktveranstaltung am 16. April von 14 bis 18 Uhr im Festsaal des Meerscheinschlössl der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz vor. Bei dieser Gelegenheit wird auch die aktuellste Bestandsaufnahme der politischen Bildung aus der Sicht von LehrerInnen präsentiert, die das SORA-Institut erhoben hat.

Rescue and risks: Researchers have surveyed public perceptions of AI

The use of artificial intelligence has had to be made transparent since 2 August 2026. The EU’s AI Act, which has been in force since then, also sets out how risky an application is and which security measures apply as a result. However, the assessment of risks by the legislation differs in some cases significantly from the perceptions of the Austrian public. This is the finding of a representative study carried out by data scientist Stefan Thalmann from the University of Graz and his team.

Chronic inflammation plays a key role in many diseases, ranging from metabolic disorders and cardiovascular diseases to tissue damage following injuries or infections. “Normally, the body is able to resolve inflammation on its own. If this process becomes unbalanced, immune cells remain permanently active and continue to drive negative changes in the tissue,” explains Andreas Koeberle, a pharmacist at the University of Graz.
