Rektorin Neuper

Rektorin Christa Neuper für zweite Amtszeit wiedergewählt

Senat und Universitätsrat haben Univ.-Prof. Dr. Christa Neuper als Rektorin der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz wiedergewählt – der Senat am 14. Mai 2014, der Universitätsrat heute, am 16. Mai 2014. Beide Gremien haben in einem verkürzten Verfahren die amtierende Rektorin in ihrer Funktion bestätigt.
Die zweite vierjährige Amtsperiode beginnt am 1. Oktober 2015.

„Es ist sowohl dem Universitätsrat als auch dem Senat ein Anliegen, dass die erfolgreiche Entwicklung der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz fortgesetzt wird“, begründen Senatsvorsitzender Univ.-Prof. Dr. Rainer Niemann und Uniratsvorsitzender Dr. Othmar Ederer unisono die Entscheidung.

 

Zur Person:
Univ.-Prof. Dr. Christa Neuper, Jahrgang 1958, studierte Psychologie an der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz. Nach ihrer Promotion war Neuper in Forschung und Lehre am Institut für Psychologie der Uni Graz sowie am Institut für Biomedizinische Technik der TU Graz tätig. 2002 habilitierte sie sich an der Karl-Franzens-Universität, wo sie 2005 zur Professorin für Angewandte Neuropsychologie und Mensch-Maschine-Schnittstellen ernannt wurde. Daneben war Neuper in verschiedenen leitenden Positionen an beiden Grazer Universitäten tätig, unter anderem als Vorstand des Instituts für Semantische Datenanalyse an der TU Graz und als Leiterin des Instituts für Psychologie an der Uni Graz.
Ihre zentralen Forschungsschwerpunkte umfassen die Entwicklung von Gehirn-Computer-Schnittstellen und Neurofeedback-Anwendungen sowie die Untersuchung der neuronalen Grundlagen kognitiver Leistungen mit funktionellen bildgebenden Verfahren.
Seit 1. Oktober 2011 ist Christa Neuper Rektorin der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz.

Walking better with a prosthesis, successfully getting rid of excess weight, training more effectively, more fairness for trans people in sport: these were the topics addressed by the students at the University of Graz who were awarded the sports science prizes for their Master's theses on 3 December 2025.
