Ludo-Hartmann-Preis für Dokumentarfilm der Bildungswissenschafterin Annette Sprung

Für ihren Dokumentarfilm „Auf der anderen Seite des Tisches. Angehörige der zweiten Generation von MigrantInnen als Fachkräfte in der Erwachsenenbildung“ erhielten Dr. Klaudija Sabo, MA, vom Institut für Zeitgeschichte der Uni Wien und Ao.Univ.-Prof. Dr. Annette Sprung vom Institut für Erziehungs- und Bildungswissenschaft der Uni Graz am 29. März 2016 den Ludo-Hartmann-Preis 2015 des Verbands Österreichischer Volkshochschulen. Der nach dem Historiker und Gründer von fünf Wiener Volkshochschulen Ludo Hartmann (1865-1924) benannte und mit 2.200 Euro dotierte Preis wird alle zwei Jahre für „hervorragende Arbeiten“ im Interesse der Volkshochschulen verliehen. Der mit 1.100 Euro dotierte Ludo-Hartmann-Förderungspreis ging an Mag. Melanie Steindl und Mag. Ulrike Zimmermann für deren Buchprojekt „Stadtreisebuch Wien – Deutsch lernen bei Exkursionen“.

Erstmals wurde der Barbara-Prammer-Preis für hervorragende Arbeiten und realisierte Initiativen im Bereich der bürgerschaftlichen Bildung für Einreichungen aus dem Jahr 2015 vergeben. Ihn erhielten Mag. Heinz Stefan Pichler und Mag. Martin Klemenjak für das Kooperations-projekt „Kärntner Gespräche zur demokratiepolitischen Bildung“. Dieser Preis wird gleichfalls alle zwei Jahre vergeben und ist ebenfalls mit 2.200 Euro dotiert.

Die Jury bestand aus Dr. Hans Angerer, Vorsitzender der VHS Krems, Mag. Beate Gfrerer, Geschäftsführerin der VHS Kärnten, Univ.-Prof. Dr. Elke Gruber, Universität Graz, Mag. Günter Kotrba, Direktor der VHS Salzburg und Mag. Gertraud Diendorfer-Ratzenböck vom Wiener Demokratiezentrum.

Chemical Christmas show at the University of Graz: An explosive evening at the Schauspielh

At the beginning of December, the University of Graz transformed the theater into a laboratory: as part of “Chemical Life,” teacher training students staged a chemical Christmas show for Styrian school classes—complete with ethanol rockets, nitrogen snow, and glowing effects. Train by train: Koralm railway accelerates exchange between the Universities

Lectures at the University of Klagenfurt in the morning, seminars at the University of Graz in the afternoon: Austria's longest tunnel and a journey time of around 45 minutes make it easy. The Koralm railway increases the speed of networking between the two university locations. The collaboration builds on existing cooperation - for example in the areas of teacher training, Slavic studies and as employers, the universities are well coordinated.
